Harper has a fever. It started yesterday. It is still going strong, hovering between 100.5-102.5 degrees. She does not seem to be sick, other than that holding her is not unlike cuddling with hot coals.
Any-who, I took her to the Doctor. I know, I know. Whatever, it is a fever and nothing else. I figured it was worth the $20 co-pay to have someone tell me my toddler was going to be fine. That way I could remove the thermometer from her armpit and stop holing her down. (Being still is not her special talent.) It was a good thing we did go to the Doctor, though...
Ummmm, I've been giving Harper the same dosage of baby Tylenol since she was a newborn. Ooopseys. Today, I learned she needs about 4 times that amount. Basically, for over a year, I've been dishing out placebo amounts of baby Tylenol. The crazy part is that it worked! We made it through all but two of her teeth that way. I should have filled the bottle with maple syrup long ago, and saved a small fortune at the drug store.
I gave her the proper dosage this afternoon. It brought her temp down from 102.3 to 101.4 degrees. Hot damn.
