Simple Pleasures

Of all the hours of preparation, me with the pies, Skylar with the dinner, I think it is safe to say the hit of the feast took about 60 seconds and 3 ingredients.

Homemade Whipped Cream:

1 cup heavy whipping cream

1 tsp vanilla

1-2 Tbs sifted powdered sugar, to taste  (I like my whipped cream not very sweet)

Whip it until stiff peaks form, and stop.  Remember, you can whip more, but you cannot whip less.  If it is over whipped, it will break up and be sad.  Serve with anything, cookies, pies, but Harper & my fave is with berries.  Or, you could just eat it off the spoon. 

I told you, cuter than puppies and kittens.

Pimp My Craft Corner

You may or may not remember Harper's Craft Corner Makeover in 2 Parts.  Well, craft corner is also host to to the Kid's Table this Thanksgiving.  

Harper's cousins, Dani & Amber who are 4 & 2 years old, are here for the feast, and you could not have ever seen anything more adorable than these three girls together.  Seriously.  Puppies?  No, please.  Kittens?  Ugly critters by comparison.  Pictures are coming soon, promise.

Any-who, my pregnancy nesting hormones went into overdrive in preparation for the girls' arrival.  

I slip-covered the children's chairs.

 

Yup.  Craft corner just got pimp'n'.  I'm sure the girls will dismantle it by pie time, but that is half the fun, right?

Sneak Peak : Holiday Treats

Skylar's super crazy busy time at work is over, for now.  To celebrate, he surprised Harper and me with a thank you card and books!  So sweet!

So, instead of working late nights and long hours, he gets to enjoy our transition into Harper's big girl bed.

If we are facebook friends, then you probably already know Harper has been climbing out of her crib.  We figured we'd go a head and move her out of the nursery and into her big girl room before she injured herself while escaping the crib.

Let's just say that there have been more tears than sleep.  Oh, and yes, I meant to write "our" transition, because Harper has yet to sleep in it at night by herself.  Yup, I guess I like my big girl bed alright, but I do miss my grown up one.  This too shall pass (hopefully, very very soon.)

Any-who, lets get down to brass tax:  Sure, sleep is awesome, but so are cookies!  We hope to have our entire holiday line in the store after Thanksgiving, so watch out!

A Day In The Land of Leaf Blowers

We spent our day of purposeful nothing in particular enjoying the last little bits of fall.

 

When we first moved here, to The Land of Lawns, all you could hear all day long were lawn mowers, perfectly preserving pristine yards.  Today it was a different tune in The Land of Leaf Blowers.

 

Inside, before nap time, we worked on our winter wardrobe.
