I've been experimenting with cornbread recipes during Harper's nap time. In California, the recipe form the back of Alber's cornmeal made the best cornbread ever, in my mind. In every other state I have ever lived it does not work. Here on the east coast, it is disastrous. This recipe came close...
We went to the park this morning. It was all of 33 degrees, which sounded like a party to me. After ten minutes, Harper was like, "Too cold! Too Cold! MY HANDS!!!" She was so cheerful to be indoors the rest of the day, it was well worth it. Sometimes, especially in the winter, there is nothing like a little misery to make you very very happy.

A) I heart Pioneer Woman and her butter drenched recipes.
B) I haven't attempted her cornbread because I (gasp!) don't own a true skillet. But now you're making me want to. Must buy skillet.
C) Hop, hop hop! She's so adorable.
