I believe I promised you these pictures a long long time ago. Sorry for the delay, I finally got around to taking them this morning.

The potty is just decoration for now. What, you don't decorate with potties? They come in such lovely colors at Ikea.
Her bed is from West Elm, and was our old guest bed. Normally there is a huge safety blue (if there is such a color) rail on the side, to keep her from falling out of bed in her sleep. I took it out for the sake of the pictures. Believe me, you don't want to look at it.
Her little bedside table/book shelf belonged to my grandparents. My grandmother kept her collection of bells on it, and I vividly remember playing with it every time we visited. I must of driven everyone nuts with the ringing. It is so strange to see this piece of furniture as an adult, because in my memory it is so much bigger. Now days, I feel like Alison in Wonderland when I am near it.
The doggy needlework was Al's. He brought it to our place in LA, to sell at our garage sale before we moved to Chicago. I picked it right up, and it has been in Harper's room (in Chicago, her nursery here, and now her big girl room) ever since.
The dresser is vintage, and the ABC's needlework in the frame is something my mom made for my room when I was a baby.
These are the finishing touches we have been waiting for, the rug to come back from the cleaners and the ABC's print from the Black Apple.
On an unrelated note, today Harper requested waffles for lunch. I asked her if she knew what went well with waffles. The answer I was looking for was "A bib." The answer she gave was, "Mac and Cheese?"
So, we went out for mac and cheese for diner, and when we were getting in the car to go home she squealed, "More mac and cheese! More!" Well, at least she is focused.
Also, we had family come into town today for a little visit. It is so nice to be able to say that, to be so close to our buddies. My Aunt Molly brought Harper the most charming children's book about dogs, and there is even a page where you can make a dog lift his leg to pee. Very informative and rad. Any-who, someone let a little curse word slip during the visit.
All during bath time, I could hear all the way from down the hall and in another room, Harper's sweet little voice. "Oh sh*t! Oh sh*t! Bubbles!!! Oh sh*t!" This talking thing is definitely the most fun part of parenting, so far.
One last thing, Harper has the best view in the house from her window. You can't really see it in this photo, but there are other houses out there, a creek, a cliff, and neighbors. When there are leaves on the trees, we can barley see our neighbors at all. As I have learned from my recent obsessive viewing of House Hunters (nesting hormones), people don't want to see their neighbors. So sad, I think. We were overjoyed this fall when leaf by leaf we began to feel less alone and isolated. I like looking at people, personally.
